On the basis of the large local, regional and national pollution from existing aquaculture facilities, the Norwegian Environmental Protection Association (NMF) demands that Loppa Municipality does not expand the existing areas in the Frakkfjorden, in order to facilitate new aquaculture facilities in the fjord. But with an alternative wish that the municipality requires cleaning of the emissions from new aquaculture facilities, if the municipality's politicians should still find it necessary to expand the areas for aquaculture. A requirement to clean up emissions will, secondly, mean that farming operators who want to establish themselves in the fjord will have to start operating in closed solutions.
