NMF has filed a complaint against the Norwegian Road Administration for releasing cement-containing drilling water into the river Sokna, which flows into Gaula in Midtre-Gauldal municipality. During tunnel work related to the construction of the new E6 south from Trondheim, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration released contaminated cement-containing water into Sokna for 3.5 hours without the warning system that says that cleaning has stopped being taken seriously.
NMF believes that this discharge has led to the death of large quantities of salmon fry, sea trout fry and smolt during the 3.5 hours that the discharge took place. The NMF also believes that much of the species diversity has otherwise disappeared.
